Can you believe it’s August already and the long weekend is already here?! We will be closed on Monday, August 5th for the Civic Holiday and will re-open on Tuesday, August 6th at 8am.
With the weather getting warmer, it is important to keep an eye on your pet, to ensure that they remain comfortable. Make sure that your cats and dogs always have access to fresh water, and a place in the shade, where they can relax and cool down. Be careful when walking your pets outside, as asphalt can heat up, and cause damage to your pets' paws. It would be best to avoid asphalt when on a walk, and elect to take a stroll on a grassy area instead. It is very important to know the signs of heatstroke in pets. Restlessness, panting, increased drooling as well as increased respiratory and heart rates can all indicate a potential heatstroke. Contact your veterinarian immediately if your pet is showing any of those symptoms.
